When we first imagined the Sapphic Shelf Explosion, the hope was simple: bring sapphic stories to more readers and create a space where authors feel seen, supported, and celebrated.

Last week, you did exactly that.

For one incredible day, over 200 sapphic titles were available for free or $0.99. Readers showed up with curiosity and generosity. Authors trusted us with their work. The community amplified in ways that still have me smiling.

This year’s event brought in 42.5k in traffic and welcomed 8.3k visitors to explore, discover, and fill their shelves.

But the numbers are only one layer of the story.

What matters more are the messages. The notes from authors who shared that it was their best sales day of all time. Others who said it was their strongest day of the year so far. Readers who found a new favorite voice. The quiet ripple effect of queer stories landing in new hands.

That is the real impact.

This event runs on trust and intention. It runs on readers who choose sapphic books. On authors who say yes to participation. On shares, reposts, tags, and word of mouth.
